Principles of Interpreting the Holy Qur’ān
Divine guidance
is coded in the text of the Holy Qur’ān. To decipher it, we need to reflect on
its verses and sūrahs. Ever since its revelation, this process has been going
on. Different groups of people have adopted myriad approaches and employed
varied principles to fathom this scripture. As an independent scholar, Amīn
Ahsan Islāhi evaluates these approaches and principles using objective criteria,
and highlights certain flaws inherent in them. This is followed by an exposition
of what in his opinion are the correct principles, with significant emphasis on
nazm of the Holy Qur’ān; thereafter interpretive sources are classified into
conclusive and non-conclusive categories.
 Some Traits of the Prophets
To form a good
understanding about someone, we definitely need to know with what attributes or
traits they are embellished. The Holy Qur’ān divulges sufficient information in
this regard about prophets of the Almighty. Jāved Ahmad Ghāmidī has inked this
brief essay to acquaint us more closely with prophets of God, as the Holy Qur’ān
sees them.
