teaching at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) since
1995 (joined as a member of permanent faculty in July 1998). Subjects teaching
i) at the B.Sc Level: Islamic Studies, Islam in the Modern World, Values and
Ethics, Comparative Religions; ii) at the MBA Level: Islamic Ethics in
Business;
delivering lectures on a regular basis at the Administrative Staff College,
Lahore School of Economics, and Pakistan Audit and Accounts training Institute;
appointed in January, 2000 member of the task force of the Finance Division of
the Government of Pakistan that has been given the assignment to propose
measures to convert government domestic borrowing into project-related
financing according to shariah injunctions; appointed non-official member of
the Board of Management of Pakistan Baitul Mal in May, 2000;
delivered lectures on topics relating to Islamic Studies in Universities of
Lampeter, Aberystwyth, Swansea, and Exeter and the Islamic Foundation in
Leicester during 1990-1994 and at various departments and hostels at the Punjab
University;
-- appeared in four Islamic question-answer programmes on Pakistan Television
in 1999;
-- delivered a lecture on 'Hidayat' in a twenty-five minute religious programme
'Fehmul Qur'an' on PTV, which was followed by a question-answer session
-- taught at Institute of Business Administration (I.B.A.), University of the
Punjab from 1984 to 1998 (1986-1998, as member of the permanent faculty);
-- delivered khutbas of Jumu'ah on a number of accasions in Britain and
Pakistan; and
-- served in Millat Tractors and Sach International (Pvt) Ltd during 1982 to
