Answer: The prohibition of a certain undertaking in Islam
is generally based on moral grounds. Prohibitions on account of medical and
health reasons are left to our own discretion and experience.
Islam as a religion is based on the norms of human nature
and anal sex is something which human nature has generally regarded to be
unnatural and repulsive. While referring to the natural course in this regard,
the Qur’ān asks the believers to go near their wives in the manner ordained by
God in their nature. This of course refers to vaginal intercourse. The Qur’ān
says:
فَأْتُوهُنَّ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَمَرَكُمُ اللّهُ (٢:
٢٢٠)
Go you to them the way that has been ordained by God.
