Move away
from me, thou earthly shade
Thou
shadow, that pursuest me;
Away, away,
let not the vision fade
From before
my eyes, let me see.
Here does
Nature open all its flowers.
The breeze
is cool, the trees are green.
Let the
heavens, let pour their powers
On this my
land, where I have been.
Can
earthliness darken my sight
And make me
blind to Nature’s works?
No. The
beauty of the day, the night
Hold me
with a greater might
I shall not
let the world shadow
The beauty
I still can behold
The trees,
flowers, the meadow
And all
that nature doth enfold.
