إسماعيل بن عياش عن زيد بن جبيرة عن داود بن الحصين عن عبيد اللّٰه بن أبي رافع عن علي رضي اللّٰه عنه قال قال رسول اللّٰه صلي اللّٰه عليه وسلم لا يبغض العرب الا منافق

‘Ali stated that God’s Messenger (sws) said: “Only a hypocrite has malice against Arabs.”1

Following is the schematic illustration of the isnad of this narrative:

Zayd ibn Jabirah in the opinion of al-Haythami and al-Dhahabi is matruk.2

Al-Mizzi records the following jarh on him: Yahya ibn Ma‘in says that he is la shay’; al-Bukhari regards him to be munkar al-hadith; al-Nasa’i says that he is laysa bi thiqah; Abu Hatim says that he is da‘if al-hadith munkar al-hadith jiddan matruk al-hadith la yuktabu hadithuhu and that he would generally not be corroborated by others.3

Ibn Hibban says that he narrates manakir from mashahir and that his narratives deserve to be forsaken.4 Al-Daraqutni says that he is da‘if al-hadith.5 Ibn Hajar regards him to be matruk.6
