أخبرنا أبو محمد عبد اللّٰه بن علي بن عياض بن أبي عقيل القاضي بصور أخبرنا محمد بن احمد بن جميع الغساني أخبرنا أبو عبد اللّٰه محمد بن مخلد العطار ببغداد حدثنا احمد بن غالب بن الأجلح بن عبد السلام أبو العباس حدثنا محمد بن يحيي بن الضريس حدثنا عيسي بن عبد اللّٰه بن عمر بن علي بن أبي طالب حدثني أبي عبد الله بن عمر عن أبيه عن جده علي بن أبي طالب قال قال رسول اللّٰه صلي اللّٰه عليه وسلم سألت اللّٰه فيك خمسا فأعطاني أربعا ومنعني واحدة سألته فأعطاني فيك انك أول من تنشق الأرض عنه يوم القيامة وأنت معي معك لواء الحمد وأنت تحمله واعطاني انك ولي المؤمنين من بعدي

‘Ali ibn Abi Talib stated that God’s Messenger said: “I asked God five things in you and he granted my wish regarding four and withheld one of them: you will be the first whose grave will be rent apart on the Day of Judgement and you will be with me. With you will be the flag of gratitude and you will be carrying it and God granted me my wish that you will be the wali of the believers after me.”1

About ‘Isa ibn ‘Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Umar ibn ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib, Ibn al-Jawzi records: he narrated fabricated narratives from his father and forefathers and it is not allowed to adduce from him; al-Daraqutni says that he is matruk al-hadith.2 Abu Hatim says that he is lam yakun qawi fi al-hadith.3

Ahmad ibn Ghalib ibn al-Ajlah is majhul al-‘ayn as the only person to narrate from him is Muhammad ibn Makhlad.4
